RV Lives Matter offers a comprehensive approach to address the urgent need for stable, secure parking for working vehicle dwellers across California. Our program blends mandatory community service with a robust support system, fostering a cycle of dignity, contribution, and transition towards permanent housing.
Program Pillars & Participant Requirements
Participation in our Safe Parking program is for individuals committed to community contribution and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

| Vehicle Status | RVs **must be operable** (drivable) and currently registered. |
| Appearance | No major exterior damage and strict adherence to keeping the immediate parking area free of debris. |
| Community Service | Mandatory Community Service Exchange (Minimum hourly commitment to be determined based on site and local partnerships, e.g., 15-20 hours/week). |
| Conduct Standards | Zero-Tolerance Policy for loud parties, fighting, public intoxication, or any disruptive behavior. |
Site Management & Community Engagement
Our program prioritizes safety, order, and positive community interaction within and around our safe parking locations.
Security & Supervision:
- **On-site Supervision:** Each lot will be professionally supervised by dedicated on-site management.
- **Street Ambassadors:** Trained "Street Ambassadors" will act as liaisons, fostering positive relations with the local community and providing immediate support.
- **Advanced Surveillance:** **24-hour surveillance** systems are in place.
- **Law Enforcement Coordination:** Daily **police patrols** will be conducted in close coordination with local law enforcement to ensure safety and adherence to program rules.
Community Service Opportunities:
Participants actively give back, enhancing the quality of life for all residents in Los Angeles County and California.
- **Environmental Cleanup:** Graffiti removal, trash, and litter removal along highway systems, parks, and public spaces.
- **Public Transit Beautification:** Cleaning and upkeep of Metro stations, bus stops, and surrounding pedestrian areas.
- **Neighborhood Improvement:** Participation in Arborist projects, grass and flower beautification, creating community murals, designing fire hydrants, and developing community gardens and pocket parks.
Support Services (Recommended, Not Mandatory)
While participation in these services is not mandatory for parking access, they are highly recommended to support health, well-being, and a successful transition to permanent housing.
Essential Amenities & Wellness:
- **Hygiene:** Weekly shower services (via mobile units or dedicated access). Restroom facilities are recommended where feasible.
- **Waste Management:** Designated **Waste Dump** for greywater/sewage and accessible **Material Dump/Trash Services.**
- **Health & Wellness Information:** Providing access to health screenings, mental health resources, and substance abuse support.
Pathway to Permanent Stability:
- **Vehicle Stabilization:** Assistance with **Vehicle Registration Services**, access to minor **Vehicle Maintenance Assistance** to ensure roadworthiness.
- **Vehicle Buyout Program:** An option for residents who secure permanent housing but whose RV is too costly to maintain or dispose of legally.
- **Housing Resources:** Intensive case management to connect participants with LA County's Coordinated Entry System (CES), rapid rehousing, and other long-term housing options.
- **Workforce Development:** Linkages to job training, resume building, and employment placement services.
