Magic Johnson, born Earvin Johnson Jr. on August 14, 1959, is a former professional basketball player and current successful businessman. Known for his flashy style of play and incredible passing ability, Johnson played point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA from 1979 to 1991 and again in 1996. He was a key member of the "Showtime" Lakers, winning five NBA championships and three MVP awards during his career. Johnson was also a member of the United States men's Olympic basketball team, winning a gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
