Typically, arrangements should be made within 24-48 hours. The first step is to contact a funeral home to transfer your loved one into their care. They will guide you through the process and help you make decisions about the service, burial or cremation, and other important details.

You'll need to provide:

• Full legal name of the deceased
• Date and place of birth
• Social Security number
• Veteran status (if applicable)
• Information about next of kin
• Details about any pre-arranged plans

Yes, many people choose to pre-plan their funeral arrangements. This can:

• Reduce emotional and financial burden on family
• Ensure your wishes are followed
• Lock in current prices for future services
• Provide peace of mind

Our memorial planners can help you create a comprehensive pre-plan.

Burial involves placing the body in a casket and interring it in a cemetery plot. Cremation uses high heat to reduce the body to ashes (cremains), which can then be buried, placed in a columbarium, kept by family, or scattered.

Both options allow for memorial services. The choice depends on personal, religious, and financial considerations.

We offer several service options:

• Traditional funeral: Usually includes visitation, funeral service, and committal service
• Memorial service: Held without the body present, often after cremation
• Celebration of life: Focuses on joyful remembrance rather than mourning
• Graveside service: Brief ceremony at the burial site
• Virtual service: Live-streamed for remote attendees

Most memorial services last between 30-60 minutes, though this can vary based on cultural and religious traditions. A typical timeline includes:

• 10-15 minutes: Prelude music and seating
• 20-30 minutes: Formal service with readings and eulogies
• 10-15 minutes: Closing remarks and recessional
• Optional: Reception or gathering afterward
