I remember fondly the respect basketball organization, where talented athletes graced the natatorium across from my grandfather’s church, Bethlehem Temple, located at 222 East Center Street. Those tournaments were not merely events; they were communal gatherings that inspired us all. The pride of my early years was deeply interwoven with the vibrant tapestry of experiences that defined life in Milwaukee.
These early memories underscored the importance of community support and perseverance. They set the foundation for my journey, as I learned invaluable lessons in discipline and ambition within a city rich in culture and camaraderie. My upbringing encouraged me to harness the skills picked up from various local organizations, like the OC White Souls Club. There, as a teenager, I participated in painting houses, an initiative that not only beautified the neighborhood but instilled a strong work ethic, community service, and personal responsibility.

While my early experiences were filled with positive influences, life took a tumultuous turn when I found myself straying down a dark path. Embracing the allure of street life led to my involvement with the Cherry Street Mob gang and engaging in illegal activities. This was a pivotal moment in my life—a crossroads that could have defined my future in a predominantly negative way. Yet that chaotic chapter would serve as an essential lesson in understanding the repercussions of one’s choices.
Fortunately, that period of my life became the catalyst for profound change. After years of wrestling with the consequences of my decisions, I realized that my experiences could either hold me back or propel me to foster change within my community. It was then that I dedicated myself to a purpose far greater than myself.

In my mid-twenties, I took a significant step towards redemption by founding Club Kids Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on gang prevention and youth empowerment. This initiative arose from a deep-seated desire to mitigate the challenges faced by young individuals in our communities and to offer them alternatives to street life. Club Kids Inc. harnessed my past experiences, using them as a framework to guide others away from the pitfalls I once faced.
Our mission has revolved around mentorship, education, and community engagement. I am proud to say that we have been honored for our commitment to social change, receiving the prestigious Shine A Light Community Service Award at the BET Awards.
