It’s 2025, and we’re still asking a question that should have been answered long ago — not with words, but with action, policy, and cultural change.
Do Black lives really matter today?
We see progress in some areas: more representation in leadership, increasing conversations about equity, and broader awareness of systemic racism. But we also see ongoing disparities in healthcare, policing, education, and economics that tell a different story.
Saying “Black Lives Matter” was never meant to be a trend. It’s a demand for justice, accountability, and dignity. It’s a call to action — one that doesn’t end with hashtags or slogans.
In 2025, we need to look beyond symbolic gestures and ask:
Are we holding systems accountable?
Are we investing in Black communities?
Are we listening to and amplifying Black voices without co-opting them?
This isn’t just a moment — it’s a movement.
And if we truly believe Black lives matter, that belief should be reflected in how we vote, hire, teach, lead, and live.
